In the northwest of South America, on the Pacific coast, lies one of the most diverse countries in the world. Between the rainforests in the Amazon basin, the highlands in the Andes and the plains on the coast, sugar cane is also grown in Ecuador. However, it is grown on a less extensive scale than in other Latin American countries. Rum from Ecuador therefore rarely enriches the European market. Ecuador's oldest distillery produces products of impeccable technology and quality in small quantities. The Quatro Leyendas ("four legends") series now brings together four rare single casks dedicated to urban legends. The first is the Romero & Sons 20 yo, probably the most remarkable bottling from the family business to date.
The rum combines 20-year-old components from sugar cane juice with distillates from sugar cane honey that have been aged for 50 to 70 years to create a powerful experience with dark notes. A maximum of 274 lovers can experience Ecuador from this new perspective.
The Single Cask is a tribute to "La Dama Tapada". According to a legend from the coastal city of Guayaquil, this creature in the form of a veiled woman lured men into dark alleys from which they were never allowed to leave...
