Barr an Uisce Wicklow Hills 0.7 l
Barr an Uisce Wicklow Hills , Blended Whiskey, 40% Vol.,
"Barr an Uisce" means "above the water". It is also the Irish name, Barraniskey, of a townland in the heart of beautiful County Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland. Uisce means water and was used when Irish monks first began distilling what we now know as whiskey. They called it "Uisce Beatha", water of life. The founder of Barr an Uisce Irish Whiskey, Ian Jones, comes from the small village of Redcross, which lies just below Barraniskey in County Wicklow. Barr an Uisce Irish Whiskey celebrates the tradition of the pub as a centre of community.
Wicklow Hills is a beautiful, velvety blend of 21% single malt and 79% single grain whiskey, matured in first-fill Kentucky bourbon casks and finished for 3 months in Oloroso sherry casks. The whiskey was reduced to drinking strength with water from the family's own spring.
