Traditionelles & Innovatives aus Kanada –Glen Breton Canadian Single Malt Whisky neu bei bringts.ch
Cape Breton is one of the few places outside Scotland where Gaelic culture is still alive. In the early 19th century, Scottish emigrants made the Canadian island their home, which, with its scenic beauty, is so similar to the Scottish mainland and islands. The pioneers brought with them customs and skills from their homeland - such as whisky distilling. Glen Breton is part of their tradition.
The Canadian Single Malt Whisky is produced in the picturesque Glenora Distillery in the Province of Nova Scotia . With production starting in 1990, it is the first single malt distillery on the North American continent. Built with the expertise of the Bowmore Distillery , it is equipped with Scottish copper pot stills. The Canadians use them to distill a wide range of award-winning single malts. Core of the range: Glen Breton 10 yo The single malt matures in barrels made of American white oak, in warehouses surrounded by apple trees. In addition to orange, chocolate, hazelnut and cherry, apple is also one of the complex aromas of the whisky.
In addition to apples, grapes also thrive in Nova Scotia - for the production of ice wine. Canada is the world's largest producer of this strong, noble sweet specialty. Ice wine consists exclusively of grapes that are frozen on the vine, harvested at an air temperature of maximum -8°C and pressed in a frozen state immediately after harvest. Glen Breton 10 yo Ice is the world's first single malt finished in an ice wine barrel. After four months, the result is perfect - and this rarity offers a delicious potpourri of notes such as honey, apple, cinnamon, vanilla and grapes.
