Cinnamon and ginger in the background. Palate: Pleasantly sweet and fruity with creamy vanilla and juicy yellow fruits - apricot, peach, subtle pineapple - paired with a warming oak spice, ground black pepper and caramelized ginger. Lush and intense. Finish: Medium length, slightly warming and delicately spicy with pepper and cloves. Persistent notes of vanilla and apricots emerge. Dry oak notes form the slowly fading finish. Conclusion: A wonderful blended whisky with a great price-performance ratio and part of a really exciting story. Rich and intense aromas on the nose, powerful on the palate and a beautiful finish. Persistent fruitiness from the finish in the Sauternes barrel and a delicate spiciness from the French oak give the whisky an amazing complexity. Makes you want more! Origin This whisky was created by master distiller John McDougall from Scottish malt whiskies from the Highlands and grain whiskies from the Lowlands and bottled uncoloured and unchill-filtered after a finish of around three months in Sauternes casks. This is very unusual for blended whiskies and makes Pier 1 an absolute premium blend.
