Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 55.9% | Not chill-filtered | No coloring

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warm, bacony smoke meets fruity sweetness against a background of subtle mulled wine candies. Nuts, fruit and sweetness gradually come to the fore.

Palate: Creamy, fruity-sweet palate pleaser with very well-integrated alcohol. The warm, only slightly bacony smoke appears quite late and more discreetly than in the nose. As the wine becomes increasingly dry towards the end, the smoke returns.

Finish: Long, smoky, fruity and sweet, with decreasing intensity.

Description

In the tenth anniversary year of his brand, the whisky druid is once again showing what he knows about cask magic with two new bottlings. The independent bottler selects his best drams personally and on site in Scotland's whisky regions, bottles them neither chill-filtered nor colored, and always at cask strength as single casks.

Possibly Scotland's oldest still active distillery shows its peated side with the Ruadh Maor (Glenturret) 2012/2024. Matured in a first fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead, the single cask nestles on the palate with warm, bacony smoke and fruity sweetness.
