Fercullen Single Grain Amarone Finish 0.7 l
Fercullen Single Grain Amarone Finish , Single Grain Whiskey, Vol.: 46%
Fercullen Amarone Finish is the first of three whiskeys from the new Estate Series, which are now gradually coming onto the market. The "Mill House" is a limited edition single grain whiskey with an Amarone finish. The name Mill House is reminiscent of the almost 300-year-old mill building, which was built from granite from the Wicklow Mountains. It is also the historical anchor of the distillery building.
The spring water that once powered the mill is now used to create the Powerscourt Distillery's whiskeys. Just as it did 300 years ago, the milling of grain still plays an important role in the distillery. Today, the barley is milled on a modern, high-tech mill within the distillery. This allows the distillery to monitor the entire process.
The Fercullen Mill House Single Grain Amarone Finish is a marriage of single grain whiskeys from 2010, 2011 and 2012 produced by master distiller Noel Sweeney. The whiskey was then stored in ex-bourbon barrels. After the grain whiskeys were combined, they were finished in Italian Amarone barrels. After 18 months, the whiskey had the ideal composition of grain whiskey, bourbon barrel notes, wood and Amarone.
The whiskey is not chill-filtered and bottled at 46%.
