Springbank 21yo Darkness bottling note
The clever guys at Darkness have got their hands on a coveted tipple. This 21-year-old Springbank single malt has been given the Darkness treatment with a finish in one of the custom-made octave casks that previously contained Oloroso sherry. The coastal malt and sherry sweetness create a perfect partnership.
Tasting Notes:
Nose Candied oranges and chewy caramel, waves of briny meat, and earthy malt.
Palate A superbly satisfying balance of sweet dried fruits, toffee, meaty malt, and woody spice, with beach bonfires smoldering in the distance.
Finish Syrupy peaches and a touch of zesty marmalade, yeasty sourdough, and dense, sherried oak.
