In Forres, on the north-west coast of Speyside, a small team of passionate distillers has been reviving a lost style of Speyside single malts since 1998: voluminous and with a hint of smoke. To achieve this, Benromach uses Highland Peat, as well as Distillers' and Brewers' Yeast, very long fermentation times and exclusively first fill casks that are stored in traditional Dunnage warehouses. And: real handcraft.
Despite its crisp cask strength, the Benromach Cask Strength retains its smoothness. In the current batch from 2014, experienced connoisseurs will discover lush aromas of sherry and cinnamon with orange, fruit compote and the characteristic smoke in the finish.
