It didn't take long for the Flensburg Rum Company, a brand of Oldman Spirits, to establish itself among rum lovers. It was only in 2019 that the North German manufacturer began delighting customers with expressive single-cask rums and its permanently available exotic rum blend Barbados & Jamaica. The recipe for success: hand-picked rums from renowned distilleries in the Caribbean, some of which have been aged for decades in a tropical climate, some of which have been fully continental matured or further matured for a short period on the European continent.
Bottled just in time for the German Rum Fest, a colleague is particularly looking forward to this Belize Single Cask. None other than our dear colleague Jürgen 'Mr. Tiki' Wiese chose this cask for the Flensburg Rum Company. He was already very impressed 2.5 years ago, but was sure that this cask had even more potential. Now, after what feels like an eternity, the rum from the Travellers Distillery is exactly as Jürgen wanted it to be: aromatic, round and strong. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated despite the intense 68.5% ABV. Coffee and cocoa combine with a light hint of vanilla. The coconut aromas typical of Belize are somewhat more in the background in this single cask.
