Waterford's cuvée concept is unique in the single malt industry: By harvesting, distilling and maturing Irish barley from farm to farm, Waterford captures the grain's own flavor profile, determined by its terroir. The progressive distillery's single farm origin whiskies thus form an unparalleled repertoire of flavors. Head distiller Ned Gahan puts these already unique whiskies together layer by layer like building blocks - creating a highly complex whole that is more than the sum of its parts.
With Argot (pronounced “ar-go”), Waterford is now presenting a cuvée to get to know the distillery concept: more affordable, with a nice drinking strength of 47% vol. and slightly less wood contact for a taste profile characterized by freshness, liveliness and accessibility.
Argot will be permanently available worldwide. The "little brother" of Waterford The Cuvée combines 14 single farm origin whiskies and matured for around three years in the cask types characteristic of Waterford. Premium casks filled with strong, sweet and red wine account for the largest share, at 44 percent. The captivating character of the single malt is also characterized by a hint of Irish peat.
