Because they are very popular among blenders, Mortlach whiskies were also only available independently bottled for a long time. The Speysiders demonstrate their full potential in single malt form: distilled 2.81 times in six pot stills of different sizes and shapes, Mortlach whiskies are extremely complex.
The Mortlach 2014/2024 joins the ranks of its diverse ancestors. Bolgheri Red Wine Casks contributed to the complexity of the Signatory Small Batch Edition #6. A kilometer-long avenue of cypresses leads to the Tuscan coastal town of Bolgheri. Modern top-quality wines are produced in the "Italian Bordeaux". Red wine from the protected region was once stored in the barrels in which the Mortlach was allowed to spend a whole decade. The effect: deep, full-bodied notes of dark fruits and spicy oak.
