Description

Extremely little single malt with extremely high demand - the Single Farm Estate Whisky from Daftmill in a nutshell. On the Daftmill Farm in the Scottish Lowlands, everything revolves around cows, potatoes, carrots and the cultivation of malting barley. Since 2006, however, the Cuthbert family has also been processing their own grain into celebrated single malt.

This rare farm whisky always matures for at least 10 years after being distilled in very small quantities, sometimes no more than 100 barrels per year. And only in the off-season (June and July and in winter), when neither potatoes need to be planted nor barley sown.

The new Daftmill 2011/2023 is based on Publican barley, which was harvested by John and Sandy on August 28th and 29th, 2009. Malted at Crisp Malt in Alloa in the summer of 2010, the farm distillery distilled its Summer Batch Release from it. 27 first fill bourbon casks from Clermont Springs in Kentucky were filled from June to August 2011 and bottled in 6,550 bottles in September 2023.
