County Down, the county where the distillery is located, has been of great importance for whiskey production since the Middle Ages as a melting pot between Irish and Scottish culture. This cultural connection inspired the founder to produce a special whiskey that combines the best of both whiskey traditions: the softness of Irish whiskey due to triple distillation and the boldness of Scottish whiskey.
