For the Powerscourt Distillery, the owners converted the old mill building from 1890. An impressive new building houses the production facility. Three individually manufactured copper pot stills are the heart of the distillery. Here, Master Distiller Noel Sweeney closely monitors the processes. With over thirty years of experience in the Irish whiskey industry, he is the right man in the right place. Master Distiller Noel Sweeney brought the whiskey with him from his old employer. This 18-year-old single malt matured in first fill bourbon barrels. Noel Sweeney personally selected the barrels for this whiskey. It is a first special bottling from the Powerscourt Distillery. This bottling is limited to 5,000 bottles. The long maturation in first fill bourbon barrels gives the whiskey a beautiful depth and complexity.
