Like the massive stone pillars of the Giant's Causeway, which legend has it was built by the giant Fionn McCumhaill to defeat a Scottish adversary in a duel, the Causeway Collection is another gigantic step for Bushmills.
The limited edition of the 10-year-old Bushmills Cuvée Cask was finished in rare casks and bottled at cask strength. After the whiskey matured in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels for eight years, it was then finished in rare cuvée casks that were used for the first fermentation of champagne casks. These French casks bring notes of lemon zest, vanilla and a little wood. The whiskey was allowed to mature in these casks for two years in order to absorb all the aromas of the cask.
These years have brought more depth and harmony to the whiskey, as well as citrus aromas, caramelized toffee and French wood.
The Bushmills 10 Years Old – Cuvée Cask is limited to 7000 bottles.
