Teeling Blackpitts Peated , Single Malt Whiskey, Vol.: 46%
The first peated whiskey, straight from the Teeling Distillery in Dublin. The name Blackpitts comes from the largest "barley malting house" in Ireland. Peat was used in the traditional way for Blackpitts when malting the barley to get the peat flavor into the whiskey. This whiskey was triple distilled so that it had more of a BBQ smoke flavor and the medicinal notes disappeared. After distillation, the whiskey was first matured in ex-bouron barrels and then finished in Sauternes, white wine barrels.
The whiskey is not colored and was bottled at 46%.
