For the two qualities of the Lum Reek series, Billy Walker married Speyside and Islay single malt with whisky from GlenAllachie. The result: harmony of peat and fruit.
Lum Reek 12 yo was matured in American oak barrels, sherry casks and French oak barriques. The 48% bottling Lum Reek 21 yo, on the other hand, was given plenty of time in Spanish sherry casks, French oak and virgin oak casks.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate, runny honey and vanilla custard.
Palate: Old leather, cedar and gentle undertones of peat alongside oodles of cocoa, vanilla pods and sweet spices.
