Cognacs from Vallein Tercinier have been delighting the palates of discerning connoisseurs since 1850. Catherine Roudier-Tercinier and her nephew Stéphane Roudier are now leading the traditional house into a new era. To do this, they are building on the wealth of experience of their ancestors and an extensive, decades-old cask inventory - built up over six generations of cognac passion. Precious and authentic, these single casks capture a moment in the history of the house in terms of taste. We were able to select one of these snapshots on site exclusively for our customers.
The Très Vieux Cognac Fins Bois Lot N. 68 rested in the cellars of the house for over half a century. The vintage powerhouse was distilled in 1968 exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes from Fins Bois. This "cru" is, alongside Bons Bois, the main growing area of Vallein Terciniers. The family has been based in Bons Bois for more than 500 years, since 1791 in the picturesque Domaine des Forges estate in the small community of Chermignac. Facts
The Fins Bois forms a ring around the Grande and Petite Champagne and the Borderies. The grapes can thrive here on around 35,000 hectares . particularly advantageous conditions . Most of the growing area is covered by clay, hard limestone and a perfect mix of sand - a combination that provides grapes with plenty of minerals and allows them to grow luxuriantly . Cognacs des Fins Bois are soft, round and designed for rapid aging . This often makes them superior to other "Crus". However, 100% Fins Bois Cognacs are difficult to obtain , as their properties mean they are often used for large and old blends.
With our Fins Bois Lot N. 68, a maximum of 156 gourmets can enjoy a pure Fins Bois. At 46.3% vol. Cask Strength The cognac evokes memories of a Strathisla from the 1960s on the nose . Voluminous and powerful, it shows its full strength on the palate, unfolding notes of caramel, berries and leather and ending long and captivating . Or, as Serge Valentin from whiskyfun.com says: " caught just in time. "
